Pet Names or Endearment for Loved Ones: Is it Corny or Cheesy?
Calling pet names or endearment to our loved ones because you are in love is a not a question to have. But is it corny or cheesy already?
Before we start, let us define first what is corny and what is cheesy. Corny means it is too lovey-dovey to have and sometimes already yucky to hear. Cheesy means it is very "kilig" or sweet to hear and the lover's endearment is very cute to listen.
There are a lot of pet names or endearment for lovers, the most common are "honey" "sweetiepie" "love", "dear", "darling" and "baby". For others they call their loved ones "Ma" or "Pa" "Dad" or "Mom".
I don't know where it came from but my husband and I call each other "Shamie." We had that endearment since we were still in a relationship up until now that we are husband and wife. Sometimes. I can hear my son call me or my hubby "Shamie" and I laugh at it but we tried to minimize that endearment whenever my son is around. My sister calls her hubby "Angel." It is kind of cute and it has a long love history why they call each other that way. My co-worker before, they call each other "Boss".which is also their tough endearment for each other. In spite a very hard endearment, they have been both sweet lovers to each other for more than 10 years now.
For lovers, endearment or pet names are one factor of their love for each other. These endearments for each other will give them that reminder that they are there for a commitment and that is to love one another.
CORNy?

Pet Names or Endearment: Corny?
At first, I was hesitant to call my hubby, especially in public, with our endearment. It was kind of corny for me. But I was proud to call him that because I believe our endearment is one unique pet name or endearment for lovers.
These pet names or endearment becomes corny when you are afraid or ashamed to call your lover this way or the like. Sometimes, this also becomes corny when the lovers using these endearments are not really in love and just want to put up a show that they are and they now become so corny to hear. I don't know if you understand what I mean or if these really exist but I have seen these many times and it really, now, sounds so corny. For those not in love and they hear these endearment from lovers, it will really sound corny for them because they don't know the feeling of how it is to be in love.
CHEESy?

Pet Names or Endearment: Cheesy?
Endearment for a loved one is cheesy because it gives you that feeling, that tickly feeling, of love. When one is in love, only the world with their lovers matters. It is like this is the only existing universe they will ever have and that feeling makes this endearment or pet names worth it. It gives deep meaning to the lovers who are using these and calling their lovers with the pet name or endearment that they chose. You will feel the love burning in them, so much more if you can see them calling each other with love names through pet names or endearment.
I love it when my hubby calls me "Shamie." I know it only means me and I know it's our term of love for each other. When my son calls me that, I always laugh because I am amazed that he get the picture of how my husband and I call each other. Sometimes, he calls us that way just to tease us and we began to laugh at him.
